Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)

Everything in the body is wrapped in a network of tissue called fascia.

Translucent and with no distinct pattern…nerves, blood vessels, fluids, and fat can all pass through fascia; fascia wraps itself in and around every cell, muscle fiber and organ in the body, extending outward through every muscle group, tendon, ligament and bone. This dynamic and amazing material communicates information to and from our brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve system, acting as a conduit for every internal or external sensation we experience. Fascia reacts to stress gravity, injury, physical activity…or lack-there-of, a continuous network that interacts with every movement or experience we have.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” el_class=”service-row service-odd” css=”.vc_custom_1502756534137{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;background-color: #f8f8f8 !important;}”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

About FST:

FST reflects decades of passion and clinical experience in stretch application and science; founders Ann & Chris Frederick developed techniques to elevate sports performance in elite and professional athletes culminating their knowledge and experience into books and a world class training facility known as the Stretch to Win Institute. Watch FST videos, purchase books or view research on FST at www.Stretchtowin.com

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a science-based, assisted-stretch modality that unlike traditional stretching affects an integrated system not just an isolated muscle or muscle group.

There is no pain during or following an FST session, affective and gentle during pregnancy or following, FST can either calm or energize the nervous system and is effective at:

  • Gaining awareness of and releasing unnecessary guarding-tendencies in the body
  • Improving functional strength, speed, power, agility and quickness (sports/fitness performance)
  • Calming the nervous system and releasing trauma or injuries stored in cells and tissues
  • Making range of motion and flexibility gains
  • Improving posture and correcting muscle compensations
  • Relieving pain caused by tension, muscle knots and adhesions in muscle fibers (scar tissue)
  • Opening joint capsules and correcting hyper/hypo-mobility in joints and ligaments

Certified FST therapists Kelly Athey and Regina Rodriguez offer stand-alone FST sessions for 30, 60 or 90-minutes.  Add FST to your Pilates session with Kelly Athey by scheduling a Pilates with FST session; or add FST to your massage session with Regina Rodriguez LMT by scheduling a Dynamic Bodywork session. Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)

Therapists relieve pain caused by tension in muscles, joints and fascia by using their body as leverage, gently moving in wave-like motions to create traction and calm the nervous system. Every fiber, joint, organ and bone is incased in a body wide network of connective tissue called fascia; 47% of flexibility is held up in the joint capsule and 42% of flexibility potential in the fascia. FST allows for greater gains than traditional stretching by extending a stretch to the joint capsule and beyond.  There is no pain during or following an FST session, affective and gentle even during or following pregnancy.

Dynamic Bodywork (Massage/MFR/FST)

Myofascial massage techniques, breath-work and decompressing stretch come together to restore the inherent potential that resides within your body’s joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia. Designed to liberate movement in women of all life stages, gentle and effective in pregnancy and following we combine 45-minutes of massage with 30-minutes of FST.  This session helps to relieve pain caused by tension, makes gains in flexibility/range of motion, and improves posture, agility and strength.  All while calming the nervous system.

Pilates and Fascial Stretch Therapy

Improve joint, ligament, muscle, tendon and fascia function with a decompressing, pain free assisted stretch (FST) after your Pilates session.  FST and Pilates can be effective and gentle even during pregnancy or following. We combine 45-minutes of Pilates with 30-minutes of FST.  This session helps to relieve pain caused by tension, makes gains in flexibility/range of motion, and improves posture, agility and strength.  All while calming the nervous system.
